Hatha Yoga

Balanced practice combining a mix of poses, deep relaxation, breath exercises, and meditation. When people think Yoga, this is what most often comes to mind. Clients often book these classes weekly.

Beginner’s Hatha or Level 1 is for newbies, as well as practiced yogis. The focus is on body awareness and proper alignment. It’s about finding ease in a pose. Attention will be brought to the breath, body, mind, and soul.

Adaptive Yoga

Makes yoga accessible to everyone no matter their shape, mobility, or energy level. In this style, the poses are adapted to the needs of each person. Clients often book these classes weekly.

Chair Yoga

A form of Adaptive Yoga in which poses are done seated in a chair and standing using a chair for support. It’s good for anyone, but especially good for people who find it hard to stand or balance. Clients often book these classes weekly.

Restorative Yoga

A gentle, restful form of Yoga focusing on stretching and deep relaxation of muscles and mind. These classes are offered in small groups or private one-on-one sessions.

Therapeutic Yoga

Yoga specifically designed to help with an individual’s symptoms, conditions, pain and diagnosis. We’ll talk first and then begin. These classes are always private one-on-one sessions with Tia.

Props help with adaptations and restoration.  Props may include straps, balls, blocks, bolsters, chairs.


Private Yoga Classes for Organizations

Blossoming Lotus Yoga offers ongoing Yoga classes for organizations at a special rate, with part of the fee going back to the organization as a donation.

For example, Tia offers Adaptive Yoga classes to members of the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia.

It’s a great way to build relationships between members of an organization while strengthening each individual’s mind, body and spirit.
